Alyonushka is a Russian fairy tale about the power of sibling love and friendship. A sister and a brother walk to a well to drink, but the brother is too thirsty to wait and drinks water from a hoof. His impatience causes him to turn into a goat. His sister takes care of him until she is drowned by a witch. To keep the deed a secret, the witch plans to kill the goat, but he calls out to his sister and she emerges from the river, brought back to life by their love for each other. The brother, in his joy, is transformed back into a human.
