Crystallized Snail – Gastropod Fossil Online

Here, the Snails have arranged pebbles, nutshells, and insect casings in elaborate patterns. You spot a few empty Snail shells and discern that it is also used for funeral rites. The most revered artifacts are spiral-shaped fossils. During fossilization, the ancient Snails were transformed into amber-colored agate stone. Your guide encourages you to take one to contemplate in quiet moments. Add it to your altar or curiosity shelf, but always regard it with respect.

You will receive one agate-replaced gastropod fossil measuring about .5-1 inch in length. Found in Morocco, it dates to the Eocene period and is about 34-55 million years old. Your gastropod comes in a small display case which allows you to examine your specimen from all angles; you can open the case to handle the fossil.  Each fossil is unique and, because of its age, may exhibit corrosion or chipping. (If you ever need to smooth out dimples in the display case s membrane, try a brief pass with a hair dryer on low.)
